Oscar so wants to play with him, but Yoshi wants NOTHING to do with Oscar! Has anyone ever had to deal with getting a new cat and introducing him to your dog? We got a kitten YEARS ago and it took about a week or so, and I know it's only been a day, but there is only so much you can handle :)
So here are some pics from today :)
Oscar meeting Yoshi :) I think Yoshi just got done eating when we took this picture :)
He's tired :)
Oscar is less than thrilled :) The humane society sent us home with SIXTY cans of cat food!!!
Yoshi is very under weight! He's 7 months old, but only weighs 4 pounds, so we plan on fattening him up!!!
I'm so excited about our new addition to the family! This is our anniversary gift to each other and Scott's b-day gift too!!
I really hope Yoshi starts liking Oscar soon...I will be sad if he doesn't start to like him and we have nothing else to do than send him back...I don't want that to happen...So if ANYONE has any tips, please let me know!! I need to get him to love him!! :)

12 BITS OF LOVE:
Awww Yoshi is just a cutie! Love him! Kelcee saw the pic of him yawning and said "mommy Oshi is tired" LOL....she really tried to say Yoshi it was really cute!
I am so glad ya'll got him for your anniversary/Scott's B-Day present!
It usually takes about a week or so for them to really warm up to each other....Cats are so finiky....Oscar is older so it shouldn't be to bad....I will cross my fingers on it....all animals act different it depends on there personality....
xoxo
Summer :0)
Love YOSHI!!
yay for you for giving that little one a home. all of our pets were in shelters too.
such a cutie.
Just give it some time.. both of them will come around soon. =)
I love that picture of Yoshi yawning. =)
Awwww! Such a cute cat! :)
ha ha ha good luck with the dog and cat :) I am sure they will become the best for friends!
Awww congrats! I love the name! When I play super mario bros I cal lhim YOSH! lol I have no tips BUT I do hope he warms up to the lil guy =D
Ah, congrats! Thats a great thing you guys did. I think with time they will warm up to each other. What you may want to do is give each of them there own space, for Oscar a dog bed and for Yoshi maybe one of those cat trees (check craigslist for a free one). That will give each of them a place of there own to be away from the other. The kitten is still young, he should learn to play nice. :)
Oh my! Yoshi is adorable! I'm sure he and Oscar will get along with each other in time. May take a couple days but hopefully they'll learn to love each other.
BTW - I sent out your box today. So - be on the lookout for it!
Enjoy lovin' on that cutie pie kitty!
aww!! yoshi is so so cute!! :)
Like everyone else has said, they'll warm up to each other with time. Until then, having a safe place for Yoshi to hide might be helpful. They'll play when they're ready :)
It takes a while, but they will warm up! Trudy wanted nothing to do with Linus for a while, but once she figured out that she got more attention when she wasn't hiding under the bed growling and moaning about it, it got better. And once she realized he wasn't going anywhere! Just give them their own space and let them wander on their own. they will figure it out.
Yoshi is a real cutie!
Honestly, I don't have any tips except for what other commenters have already given you. One thing I'd definitely do is to make sure Oscar still gets plenty of attention. Otherwise, yeah - just give it time. Since Yoshi is still a kitten, he'll probably adjust a little better.
I brought Shiver home when I had a kitty. Shiver was still a puppy and my kitty was older. They didn't become bff's but they learned to tolerate one another. Shiver LOVED to pounce on the cat so I just tried to make sure he had his own area just for him so he had a place to get away when it got to be too much for him.
My sweet kitty died and then I got Chico, my other chihuahua.
