Since I can't do much since having surgery...I figured I would update our blog!!
*Warning* This post is VERY long!!!!
Well I last updated on 7-19-09 and it was our 6 year anniversary post...Well I will start from the last post that actually was about what was going on in our lives...6-6-09...WOW...That's a lot of things to update about!!
June~
~We went camping on the 12th. Yup...Just right down the road...I think Scott has finally gotten me to want to camp where there are real bathrooms and electricity...Had a good time...Only had one person come out and visit us...All well it was a good time to get away and didn't cost much :)
My sisters birthday was on the 15th...Whoooo hooo that was a blast...We went out to dinner (Scott stayed home he was sick...He was the lucky one!!!) Lets just say that was an expierence that I'm not willing to do again!!
~On the 20th we had a beginnng of summer BBQ...It was soooo much fun, I had a really good time...It was mainly friends from work that showed up and my cousin and her husband and kids, my parents, and Scott's mom and Andy...We made A LOT of food and it must of been really good, because it was all gone!!! But the next get together we have we probably wont by making food...We'll just have you come out and hang out and have a good time...It was a lot of work...
We went putt putting, out to Frankfort Pier, walked downtown and took a walk around the State Hospital (like we do multiple times a month) I'm sure there was more to June, but probably not worth blogging about! :)
JULY~
~We went dowtown on the 5th to watch the Air Show...Didn't stay too long since it wasn't the Blue Angels...Never did get our elephant ear!! Did get free cotton candy and a pop!!!
~And of course we took our Anniversary trip (we do a trip every year) to the UP. We did lots of things in the first couple of days, but the last part of our trip we relaxed quite a bit!!!
~First night-
We headed out after I got out of work...We wanted to get across the bridge by the time it got dark, because we wanted to see the bridge all lit up. We stopped at the little souvenir shop in St. Ignace and went to the top of the building and took some pictures of the bridge...We then went and checked into the hotel (we stayed in St. Ignace the first night) then went to the bridge viewing are and took some more pictures of the bridge...We also stopped at the marina in St. Ignace and got some more pictures :) We didn't do much that night since we got up there late. We went back to the room and hung out...
~Second night-
We headed up towards Munising. On the way there we stopped at the Garlyn Zoo...It's just a little zoo up north, but I LOVE IT!!! We stopped by the Seul Choix light house. This light house is supposidly haunted...We haven't noticed anything in there yet and this was our second time there. We got into Munising and stopped at Alger Falls which is a small pretty waterfall on the side of the road. We checked into the hotel and head out again...We headed to Wagner Falls. This is one of my favorite waterfalls in Munising (there are a BUNCH in Munising)...And then finally we got on the boat to do the Pictured Rocks Boat tour!!! I also LOVED this!!! This was our main reason why we headed up to Munising...I highly recommened this boat trip (the I think 5pm one I takes you to a BIG waterfall coming off the rocks. The waterfall is called Spray falls) We headed to one more waterfall for the night. Munising falls....
~Third day-
We went to the Dogpatch for breakfast...They have REALLY yummy food! If you ever find yourself in Munising make time for a stop at the Dogpatch. We did one more waterfall there...Horseshoe falls...Someone owns this property so you have to pay to go see this one...They also have a little pond there where you can feed some fish...Waterfalls are one of my favorite things to see, so going to the UP is wonderful for me because there are A LOT up there. We then started heading out to Sault Ste. Marie...Before we got there we stopped to see the bears at Oswald bear ranch...There they have all these bears there...They have little ones that you can go in and get your picture taken with them and touch them....They are sooo cute...And our last adventure for the day was tahquamenon falls...Man how I love that place...It's a loooong walk, but well worth it!!! :)
~Fourth day-
We hung around the hotel for the majority of the day....We then went and did the Soo Locks dinner cruise! We have done this boat tour a couple of times and I LOVE it!! We couldn't go through that Canadian Locks because they were doing some work on them, but we still went over to the Canadian side of the river. We have a very yummy meal on the boat...That night we went and walked around this big park (Brady Park) that is right next to our hotel where you can see the boats entering and exiting the locks...We didn't see any boats while we were in the park...We did sit and watch the lighted water fountain...It's a big fountain the changes colors...it's very pretty...
~Fifth day-
We lounged around the hotel for the majority of the day...We went to The Tower of History, which is this big ol' cement tower that has all these observations decks that you can go out on and look around the city...It has wonderful views! So very pretty!!! We then walked next door to a really pretty Catholic church, took some pictures and that was is...We then ventured out to get some lunch...While on the Soo Locks tour the boat drove by this little tiny place and told us that is had really good burgers...So this is where we ate...We ordered our burgers, Scott ordered a double cheese burger. They brought it out and this thing was HUGE!!!! The biggest burger I have ever seen in my life!! Scott was able to choke it all down. The lady came back and Scott asked how big the burger was....He had just eaten a ONE POUND cheese burger!!! We were not aware of how big they were before he ordered it and the waitress said he ordered it with so much confidence that she figured he knew how big it was!! :) The boat Captain didn't say anything about them being known for their one pound burgers!! So we headed back to the hotel where we lounged around for the rest of the night because Scott was in sooo much pain and didn't feel good from eating the huge burger!! We were going to go to do this "Haunted walk" thing that some guy meets you by the entrance to the park and you walk around the town and he tells you haunted stories of Sault Ste. Marie...We decided to do this the next time we go there and just take the rest of the night to rest up for our journey home....
~Sixth and Final day :( -
While on out way home we stopped in St. Ignace at the Deer Park :) We got to feed some deer...There were some elbino deer there!? I had never heard of such a thing!!! White deer!? Who would of thought :) We also stopped at the big tower that is attached to a souvenior shop and walked the tower...Oh boy was that a long walk also...
This was a wonderful trip that I got to spend with my husband of almost 6 years...This trip was taken before our anniversary...I love our getaways and I'm always looking forward to the next one....
~July 31st was Scott's birthday!! I got him an ice cream cake for his birthday...He is the hardest person to buy gifts for so I just took him to Wal-mart where he picked out what he wanted and I bought it for him :)
~So....Now onto August....
~Scott and I have been looking for this random little girls grave for YEARS...My sister told us about it years and years ago about how creepy it was and this, that, and another....So finally I got good directions to it...We headed out to it...It wasn't that creepy other than the fact that it's this random little girls graves that is in the woods off of a horse trail...
~We of course went to the fair...Twice this year!! It wasn't too bad...We did get to get our elephant ear, fries and I got more cotton candy!!!
~Logan's birthday was on the 25th...He turned SEVEN!!! He's getting so big...And time is sure flying by...
~We took a quick little trip to Saginaw just to "getaway" We went to the zoo in Birch run, did a very small amount of shopping...It was pretty much just a trip to get out of town and relax!
Nothing else happened in August that I can remember...It was kind of a boring month...
~So now finally....SEPTEMBER!!!
~Nothing happened in the beggining of the month...
~Scott had an interview...Then had another interview and then got a job...Working at Classic Motor sports doing stuff in accounting...Four day later...They let him go!!! They told him that he wasn't a good fit for that job!!! They hadn't even trained him for his position yet!!! They had him doing other things!!! So Scott is back to being the housewife...I'm still ok with this, I wish he had a job but we can make it for right now...
~We were gonna take a trip for my birthday down to Scott's friend Kris's house for the weekend of the 18th, however we were only going to be able to do this if my student loan had gone through...Well it didn't :( They screwed up the loans this semester and now I'm going to have to wait forever!!! So I was a little upset about that, but we will still be able to do the trip sooner or later...
~And I'm pretty sure that if we still had planned on going we wouldn't of been able to make it!! I had my appendix removed on. my. BIRTHDAY!!!! :( How sucky is that??? Thursday night Scott dropped me off at my parents house and around 6pm I started getting really bad stomach pains...I have had these before 2 years ago, but these ones were 10 times worse!!! Scott showed up at my parents house and the stomach pains hadn't gone away yet...So I told Scott that we needed to head to the hospital! I just didn't feel right, I felt like something was seriously wrong with me...So before heading to the hospital to get checked out we ran home so I could do a Learning Activity and take and Online Quiz for my Medical Terminology class (yes, I could of been dying and I still had to get that homework done :) haha)...We put Oscar in the pen and took off to the hospital...We get all checked in and the docotr comes in, asks me some questions feels around on my belly and where she pushed that hurt the worse wasn't even where I was feeling the sharp pains I went in there for!!! So right there I think she knew what it was...She has me get all these tests done and comes it and says "well, it is your appendix so I will get ahold of the surgeon and he will talk with you"!!!! OK am I having it taken out?!?! So Scott asks her and she said well yeah it has to be taken out!!! So after parents have been called, surgeons had been talked to and forever of waiting I was being wheeled into the operating room where I would be getting my appendix removed on my 25th birthday!!!! So I'm laying on the couch right now at 1:45am because I can't lay completely down and I can't sleep because i'm in some pain....What a lovely birthday present I had!!!
~But anyways....For the car situation...We are still using Scott's moms van...I would love to get our own car, but we can't afford a new one right now, so we will continue to use her vehical...I'm very greatful for her letting us use it, but I can't wait until we get our own again...
~And as for the job situation....
I'm still at mine and loving it and Scott it still unemployed and is the house wife :)
But I think that this is it for now...This is very long....
UNTIL NEXT TIME
